Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Cardiac PCU unit with 48 beds and a 1:5 patient ratio
• Patient population includes cardiac diagnoses, PCI procedures, and pacemaker patients
• Uses Epic EMR and Galaxy Blue telemetry monitoring system
• Administers medications including Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin
• Performs skills including IV therapy, PCA, feeding tubes, wound vac, CBI, trach care, and central line care
• RN must read telemetry and titrate medications accordingly
• ANM support provided on the unit
• Night shift schedule from 6:45pm to 7:15am
• Works three 12-hour shifts per week totaling 36 hours
• Every other weekend required per unit need

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required

Additional Information

• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical outcomes
• Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and serves as a mentor/preceptor
• Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement initiatives
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and patients/families to coordinate care
• Facilitates patient and family education throughout treatment and at discharge
• RTO considered except during holidays
