Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit requiring telemetry and step-down experience with NH or compact licensure.

Details

• Progressive Care Neuro Trauma Unit in a 23-bed hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Day and night shift coverage with 6-7 RNs and 2 aides per shift
• Uses bedside monitors, end tidal CO2 monitoring, high flow therapy, chronic vents, and subdural drains
• Charting is done in Meditech
• Typical procedures include chest tubes and EEGs
• Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to all inpatient units including ICU and ED
• 13-week assignment with a 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM shift schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NH or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry and step-down experience required
• Neuro and trauma experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to neuro trauma and progressive care patients, including monitoring, drains, and chest tube management
• Team-oriented personality fit preferred
• No specific scrub color required, professional attire expected
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
