Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cares for patients of all age and developmental stages

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with CVA, feeding tube management, and heparin protocols preferred
• 2 professional references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Manage assigned patient care and direct activities of ancillary staff
• Demonstrate leadership through performance of charge nurse functions when needed
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Returning staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday allowed per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
