Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with renal experience for a night shift position requiring an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with a focus on renal patients
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7:30a)
• Patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Float to other med/surg units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS certification (AHA only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Experience with renal failure, CVA, GI, and feeding tube management
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with oxygen administration and nasal cannula
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and rapid response/code team protocols
• Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to a renal patient population
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking available at the facility
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
• First-time travelers accepted
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted
• Employees and contractors may be required to support emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)
