Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Pool RN to rotate between ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU, requiring at least 1 year of RN experience with Telemetry background and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Float Pool position rotating among ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units
• Cares for patients of varying acuity across multiple units
• 3x12 night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Floating required across ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg and PCU units

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license
• BLS (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA) required within 6 months of hire
• PALS required within 6 months of hire
• NIHSS required within 6 months of hire
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training completed before end of orientation and maintained annually
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with required Telemetry experience
• ICU or critical care experience preferred
• ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
• Annual influenza vaccination required
• Candidates holding ACLS, PALS and NIHSS already are strongly preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and month/day of date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform hourly patient rounding and bedside shift report
• Prioritize and adjust care as patient needs change across different units
• Maintain ongoing communication with physicians and other departments
• Demonstrate flexibility and strong time management across multiple units
• Adhere to infection-control protocols and patient privacy and confidentiality requirements
• Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling over 35 lbs, walking, repetitive motion, bending, and color discrimination for clinical cues required
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps and airborne infectious diseases
• Candidates must reside within a 75-mile radius; local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
