Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 3+ years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and expertise with magnesium drips and C-sections.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule of 4x12 or 3x12 hours, 0645-1915
• No block scheduling; flexibility with scheduling required
• Floating to the Post-Partum unit required when needed based on patient care needs
• Travel pairs accepted

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of recent L&D experience in a unit with comparable volume and acuity
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with magnesium sulfate drips, C-sections, and circulating for C-sections required
• Experience with high-risk antepartum, VBAC management, and fetal monitoring (external and internal) required
• Experience with pain management modalities including epidurals and PCA pumps
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum phases
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and C-section recovery
• Manage patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, preterm labor, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Perform newborn care including APGAR scoring, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching to parents
• Support breastfeeding and lactation needs for postpartum patients
• Required orientation modules completed and signed off by facility managers, averaging 8-12 hours
• RTO must be 5 days or less and disclosed prior to consideration; no changes permitted afterward
• Must be available to work at least 2 of 3 scheduled holidays
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as non-local candidates
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for a travel assignment
