Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment on an orthopedic unit requiring at least 1 year of recent specialty experience.

Details

• Medical/surgical unit on the 4th floor caring for telemetry, pre/post-surgical, cardiac, respiratory, and GI patients
• 33-bed unit staffed with charge nurses, RNs, PCTs, and a unit secretary
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Equipment includes bladder scanners, scales, vein finders, lift equipment, IV sonosite, iMobile communication devices, in-room computers, and workstations on wheels
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float throughout the hospital to care for med/surg patients based on need
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and CPI/SAMA certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a med/surg population including telemetry, pre/post-surgical, cardiac, respiratory, and GI cases
• Collaborate with a team-oriented, patient-centered nursing staff
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered
