Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit on night shift, requiring PCU drip management experience and NIH Stroke Scale/ACLS certification.

Details

• 46-bed PCU with 16 private and 15 semi-private rooms, average census of 34
• Staffing includes charge nurse, RNs, techs, and a secretary on both day and night shifts
• Patient ratio of 1:4, max 1:5
• Uses IV pumps, Sara Stedy lift, roving B450 monitors, and remote telemetry
• EMR is Meditech, experience preferred
• Night shift schedule, 7P-7A
• 13-week assignment
• Floating required to Inpatient Holds in ED and Med/Surg departments
• Weekend requirement of 2 shifts every 2 weeks or 4 shifts every 4 weeks

Requirements

• Active RN license, Texas or Compact, required
• Current certifications: NIH Stroke Scale and ACLS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience required
• Must be able to manage titratable drips such as heparin, Cardizem, and Cardizem
• Experience with Bipap/Hi Flow O2 procedures preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide care for PCU patients requiring close monitoring and titratable drip management
• Collaborate closely with charge nurses, RNs, and techs on the unit
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet required experience
