Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment experience for a night shift position supporting adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care.

Details

• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
• Shifts scheduled in either three or six consecutive shift blocks based on department needs
• Supports Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics units
• Utilizes Meditech charting system
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• RRT license required if applicable
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• PALS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Meditech charting experience highly preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, SIMV, and IMV
• Experience with arterial blood gas interpretation
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including Bubble CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Experience administering respiratory medications via nebulizer and MDI

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal critical care populations
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, tracheostomy care, and chest physiotherapy
• Assist with patient transport including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
• Manage high-pressure ventilator alarms and wean patients from mechanical ventilation
• Care for infants and children with respiratory distress syndrome, RSV, and transient tachypnea of the newborn
• Candidates must live outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
• Requested time off should be kept to a minimum at time of consideration
