Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of ER experience with night shift availability.

Details

• 13-week night shift assignment (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) in an Acute Care Hospital Emergency Department
• 1:4 patient ratios
• Every other weekend required, totaling 6-8 shifts per contract
• May float to Pediatrics with support available if needed
• May also be required to float to a sister Providence facility
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: EDAP or ENPC, TNCC
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Preferred: Level I or II Trauma Center experience, teaching hospital experience, arterial line management, ventilated patient care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, neuro-trauma care (CVA, ICP monitoring, TBI, spinal cord injury), pediatric trauma care, and ortho trauma experience
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide emergency nursing care across a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• 356 staffed bed acute care hospital
• Any scrub color permitted

• Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel candidate and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
