Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Case Management/Utilization Review RN for a cancer specialty hospital, requiring 5 years of acute hospital experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

Case Management and Utilization Review role within a cancer specialty hospital setting
Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Weekend work required
Uses Epic EMR for documentation
Utilizes SBAR communication framework

Requirements

Active CA RN license in hand (no pending license, EMSA not accepted)
BSN required
BLS certification required
Minimum 5 years of experience required
Acute hospital experience required
Experience with Long Term Acute Care/Rehab/Skilled Nursing settings
Experience with InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines
Experience in care coordination and discharge planning
Experience with UR admission criteria, appeals and denials, concurrent review, continued stay reviews, medical necessity, and retrospective review
Knowledge of CMS, CPT coding, DRG, HEDIS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, NCQA, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards
Workers compensation knowledge required

Additional Information

Responsible for utilization review and case management functions including admission criteria review and discharge planning coordination
Flu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu season (October-March)
Former employees of the facility will not be considered for this travel position
Locals accepted at local rate, with local status defined as residing within a 75 mile radius
No restrictive RTO rules
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travel pairs allowed
