Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Dept RN for a Level 2 Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ER experience and active CA RN license.

Details

• Level 2 Trauma Center ER treating AMIs, strokes, MVAs, gunshot wounds, sepsis, and CHF
• Serves a lower income Hispanic population
• Pediatric patients comprise approximately 30% of volume
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Evening shift, 3x12 hours, 15:00-03:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating between sister facilities may be required
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and LA City Fire Card
• Familiarity with antibiotics, vasopressors, opioids, sedation, anti-hypertensives, anti-seizure, and cardiac medications required
• Skills required include pediatric emergency care, IV therapy/phlebotomy, respiratory management, neurological assessment, cardiac monitoring, triage, and orthopedic splinting
• Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, overdose, and suicidal patients required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

• Scrubs of any color permitted, with L/D and OR scrubs provided

• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Facility may cancel one shift per two-week pay period
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, with local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside the 50-mile radius
• Only one submission allowed to a Providence facility at a time
• RTO must be submitted at time of application
