Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring Cath Lab scrub experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- 1st Floor Cath Lab within a 294-bed hospital
- Adult and geriatric patient population with 3:1 patient ratios
- Uses GE Innova X-ray and Merge Hemo equipment
- Meditech EHR experience preferred
- Schedule consists of four 10-hour days, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to Interventional Radiology required
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab scrub experience required
- RN or Rad Tech education required
- Experience with PCI and peripheral intervention preferred
- Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrub Cath Lab procedures treating conditions such as CAD, PAD, NSTEMI, PE, and DVT
- Report to the RN Director
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Candidates who worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
- Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
- Positivity and flexibility valued in candidates

Doctors and most of staff are nice. Surgeries are not hard.
Cons
No staff so a lot of call. You will be on call within your first week or two, even if you don't know how to do anything. Unorganized. The director and supervisor don't know anything about the OR nor are they helpful. New staff are not properly trained. Everything falls on the OR nurse to do. They preop in house patients getting surgery. A couple of OR staff are bullies and lazy, they all think they are the boss. They tell the charge nurse what they are going to do and not going to do. Its like high school all over. Had to leave out of fear for my license.
