Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Stepdown/Med-Surg night shift position requiring a WV or compact RN license and 3 years of experience.

Details

• Stepdown/Med-Surg unit with 20 beds in an acute care setting
• Stepdown ratio of 1:3 and floor ratio of 1:5-6
• Patient population includes respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain
• RNs required to titrate drips including Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and amiodarone
• Telemetry monitored on unit with strip reading by RNs
• RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPap, and high flow
• Unit supported by a House Supervisor and 2 nurse aides per shift
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts with 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation required (evening or day)
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA)
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Stepdown experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Unexpired driver's license copy required for consideration
• Any licensing history issues must be disclosed at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown/med-surg level nursing care including drip titration and telemetry monitoring
• Royal blue scrubs required per dress code
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate, local candidates not accepted
• Returning travelers to WVU Medicine facilities must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within WVU Medicine system for longer than one year without taking a 2-year break
• Candidates can only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
