Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a Surgical Unit requiring 2 years of experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Details
- Surgical Inpatient Unit within a Level III trauma center that also treats Level I and II trauma cases
- 24-bed unit caring for adult patients ages 18 and older
- Specializes in Ortho/Neuro Surgery along with Medical/Nephrology patients as needed
- Patient ratio of 1:6 max with frequent admits and discharges throughout the shift
- Uses IV pumps and vital sign monitors
- Charts in Cerner EHR
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend commitment of at least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- May float to Cardiology or Med/Surg for lower acuity patients, or to Pediatrics for adult patients only
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Mexico or Compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Experience in post-operative patient care including ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries required
- Experience with NG tubes, chest tubes, foley catheters/TURPs, and pain management required
- Experience managing respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, and altered mental status required
- May serve in a Charge Nurse role
