Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an IMC/Stepdown unit position requiring 2 years of recent telemetry experience and NIHSS certification for a night shift assignment.
Details
- IMC (Intermediate Care/Stepdown) unit within a 34-bed hospital setting
- Patient population includes bariatric surgery, stroke, acute respiratory failure, fall risk, aneurysm, and encephalopathy cases
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Floating required within scope to sister facilities as needed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and oxygen administration
- Experience in MS/Tele, Neuro Stepdown, or PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings preferred
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two supervisory references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for complex neurological, respiratory, and post-surgical patients in a stepdown setting
- Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
- Maximum RTO of 5 days per assignment with no holidays permitted
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
- Floating required to sister facilities within the same 75-mile radius
- Former facility employees must have at least 1 year of separation before becoming eligible for assignment
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
