Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift acute care surgical and bariatric unit requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and AHA BLS certification.

• Acute care surgical and bariatric unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• 36/36 schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required (AHA ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele and Med/Surg experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, starting/maintaining IVs, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, administration of Heparin, Insulin, and PCA, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, and wound care/wound vac
• Experience with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, CVA care, and telemetry preferred
• Must pass Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete drug testing 12-14 calendar days prior to start
• Must meet CDC fit testing guidelines (facial hair trimmed or removed)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a surgical and bariatric Med/Surg Tele unit
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules averaging 4-5 non-billable hours
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
