Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2+ years of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00) with rotating shifts
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active PA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and nasal cannula preferred
• IV therapy skills including blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs preferred
• Gastrointestinal care experience including colostomy/ileostomy management and feeding tube care preferred
• Medication administration experience with heparin, insulin, and PCA preferred
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE experience preferred
• IV insulin protocol experience preferred
• Cardiovascular care experience including post-angiogram and post-MI management preferred
• Renal care experience including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• Surgical drain management experience preferred
• Telemetry monitoring and rapid response/code team experience preferred
• 1 supervisory reference from within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• No more than 5 days of requested time off permitted for this assignment
• Must complete PA fingerprinting and ChildLine registration within 48 hours of signing contract
• Fingerprinting must be completed in Pennsylvania
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Candidates with previous permanent or per diem employment at this health system must disclose this history and must have been away from the organization for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
