Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of recent specialty experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Work on a 34-bed Trauma Med/Surg unit
- Patient ratio of 6:1
- Tech support available on day and night shifts with unit secretary coverage 7a-7p
- Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
- Meditech EMR used for documentation
- 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 3 shifts per week
- Schedule includes 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Contract labor staff float first, based on rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Med/Surg experience required with ability to prioritize care and multitask
- Skilled in starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Provide attentive, compassionate care including bedside shift report and personal connections with patients and families
- Unit located within a Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center
- Navy scrub top and bottom required as dress code
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
