Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Trauma Med/Surg unit requiring TN or compact RN licensure and 1 year of recent specialty experience.

Details

• Trauma Med/Surg unit (34 beds) within a Level II Trauma Center
• 6:1 patient ratio
• Tech support available on day and night shifts, with unit secretary coverage 7a-7p
• Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM
• Floating required, with contract labor prioritized for floating on a rotational basis among contract staff

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Med/Surg experience required, including ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, and perform basic wound care
• Experience maintaining surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months

• Provide attentive, compassionate patient and family-centered care including bedside shift reporting
• Facility holds Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center designations
• Navy scrub top and bottom required as part of dress code
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
