Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 36-hour night shift contract requiring 2+ years of ED experience and multiple specialty certifications.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Emergency Department at a stroke center with an average of 130 patients per day
• Patient population includes stroke, CHF, electrolyte imbalances, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, COPD, falls, and MVCs
• RN to patient ratio of 1:3-4 and CNA ratio of 1:8-10
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0700) with a 36-hour work week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within Region 3 including Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, any Freestanding ED within the region, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, LCH)
• CNA, receptionist/HUC, and charge nurse support available on the unit
• RT available 24/7 for treatments (excluding continuous nebs) and hospitalist coverage 24/7 for inpatient holds
• Telemetry monitoring via central monitor at the desk
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Unit equipment includes bladder scanners, IV pumps, SCDs, telemetry monitors, vents, and Bipap

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• General ED skillset required including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, vent management, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
• Epic EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any shortfall added to the end of the contract

• Candidates must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if previously employed in a permanent position there
