Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg/Tele night shift position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• 60-bed Med/Surg unit caring for adult medical patients
• Patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6
• Uses bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs
• Documents in EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 1900-0730
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Floating required as needed to a similar or lower acuity unit
• Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week

Requirements

• Active RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (or compact)
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience required
• Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
• Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort and outcomes
• Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other caregivers
• Requires standing and walking most of shift, with bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
• High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and occasionally kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Black scrubs required
• Level 2 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
• RTO of up to 5 days allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Only one holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
• Local candidates accepted
