Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least one year of relevant nursing experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting, supporting Observation status patients
• Day shift schedule with 3x 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
• Six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Floating to similar units required
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, care planning, and patient education
• Delegates and validates tasks performed by healthcare technicians (HCTs)
• Participates in bedside shift report and maintains patient communication boards
• Follows Carle Med/Surg RN documentation standards
• Maintains patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and support timely discharge
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not work continuously at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
