Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a day shift position requiring circulating skills and on-call availability at a 475-bed community teaching hospital.

Details

• Operating Room unit with 11 main ORs operating 6a-9p, with urgent/emergent cases scheduled only after 7pm
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Primarily adult patient population with no pediatric cases
• 1:1 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends
• Surgical specialties include robotic, orthopedic, general, GYN, vascular, urology, and neurology (ortho spine)
• Weekend shifts required
• On-call requirement of 3 overnight shifts and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 4-week period, with a 30-minute call response time
• No floating required outside of scope
• Cerner EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of acute OR experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Circulating skills required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Experience with GYN, general surgery, vascular, neurology, orthopedic, and urology procedures including hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, carotid endarterectomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, and TURP
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Short term acute care teaching hospital setting
• Royal blue scrubs required
• COVID-19 vaccination required, with medical or religious exemptions accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• RTO is not accommodated during the contract
