Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and EPIC proficiency on night shift.
Details
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend rotation required, likely every other weekend
- Patient ratio of 1:5/6
- Floating required to all Med/Surg floors and potentially rehab
- May care for COVID patients
- Unit cares for diverse Med/Surg populations including post cardiac surgery, peritoneal dialysis, respiratory, cardiac disease, stroke, joint replacement, and observation cases
Requirements
- Active RN license (PA state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- EPIC charting experience required
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, cardiac dysrhythmia management, and rapid response protocols
- Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and wound care
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Additional Information
- Care for Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac, stroke, orthopedic, and post-surgical populations
- Collaborate with CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators for patient education on 3South
- Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
- One day of orientation provided before starting assignment
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) or 1 of 2 if contract spans fewer holidays
- Maximum RTO of 7 days during contract
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on Med/Surg experience
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
