Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with current NY license, EPIC experience, and ED-specific certifications for a night shift position.

Details

• Work in an 11-bed medical Emergency Department with a separate CPEP (Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program) unit
• CPEP includes an evaluation space for up to 6 patients and an Extended Obs space for up to 2 patients
• Night shift staff in CPEP typically work full 12-hour blocks in the space
• Patients in CPEP are triaged and medically cleared prior to entry, requiring at most labs or EKG
• Security posted in the ED
• Shift schedule is 4x12 nights, 1900-0700
• Required to work every other weekend
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, TRUST, CPIM
• EPIC charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric, psychiatric, and trauma patient populations preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, respiratory management, cardiac monitoring, and triage preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across adult and pediatric populations, including psychiatric and trauma cases
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center and STEMI/Stroke certified
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
• Candidates who previously worked for this health system must have a 6-month system-wide break in service
• First-time travelers are accepted
