Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for an acute care teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years of experience and MN state license.

Details

• Acute care teaching hospital, Level 3 trauma center
• RRT unit covering adult critical care and emergency department patients
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Epic (Excellian) EMR used

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• CRT or RRT certification required
• MN state license required (license required if applicable)
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with ventilator management, including BiPAP, CPAP, IMV, and SIMV
• Experience with airway management, suctioning, intubation/extubation assist
• Experience with ABG interpretation and arterial blood gas draws
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and fresh tracheostomy
• Experience with medication delivery systems and administration including nebulizer, MDI, and various respiratory medications

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to adult critical care and emergency department patients
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, chest physiotherapy, and tracheostomy care/management
• Olive green scrub color required
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital if needed
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO requests should ideally not exceed 5 days
