Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Telemetry stroke unit position requiring active NIHSS certification and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Med Surg/Telemetry unit on a dedicated stroke unit
- Day shift schedule, 7:00AM - 7:30PM, 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend and on-call schedules to be determined by facility
- Must be willing to take telemetry patients as needed
- Must be willing to work the facility's schedule with no scheduling restrictions
Requirements
- Active RN license (MD or Compact)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current/active NIHSS certification required at time of submission
- Willing to obtain mRS/SIREN certification within 48 hours of offer
- Willing to complete Basic EKG test and score 85% or higher within 48 hours of offer
- 2+ years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
- 2+ years of experience working with stroke patients, documented on resume
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Flu vaccination record required, declinations not accepted
- COVID vaccination record required, declinations not accepted
Additional Information
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards
- Accountable for quality of nursing care delivered by self and those under their direction
- Candidates are thoroughly screened by the unit manager for stroke patient experience and comfort level
- Local candidates accepted with no rate change and no radius restriction
- RTO requests limited to no more than 5 days
- Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
