Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring general surgery, GYN, and urology experience with weekly call.

Details

• Work in a 14-suite general surgery OR within a 28-suite surgical department
• Handles 20-40 general surgery cases per day including lap chole, lap colon, lap appy, cysto, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, and urology procedures
• 12-hour day shifts scheduled 7:00-17:30 or 12:30-23:00 to total 36 or 40 hours per week
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling determined by facility need
• Call required approximately once per week with assigned call hours (1530-2300, 1730-2300, 1930-2300, or 2300-0700)
• Weekend call required every other or every third weekend depending on need, worked as a full weekend with an assigned call shift
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Sleep policy provides 8 hours off if working more than 4 hours past 23:00 on call
• Floating required to other surgery teams or SPD if qualified
• Works alongside surgical technologists and a charge nurse who assists with cases
• Uses EPIC OpTime EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in general surgery, GYN, and urology required
• ENT experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience in similarly sized facilities and ORs within the last 2 years preferred

Additional Information

• Unit-specific orientation up to one week, plus hospital-wide orientation
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Local rate available for clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
• No radius rule restricting eligibility
• Requested time off must be submitted for consideration
