Description

Are you ready to take your expertise as a cardiovascular technologist to a new setting in Omaha, NE. Join a hospital-based Cath Lab team as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist and support physicians and interprofessional staff in diagnostic and interventional procedures. Operate advanced imaging and monitoring equipment, assist with intra-procedural circulating duties, medication administration, and sedation, and contribute to high-quality patient care for cardiac and interventional radiology cases.


What You'll Need:

  • ARRT certified Radiologic Technologist.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a hospital Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology setting; experience with cardiac cath and IR procedures required.
  • BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Experience with EPIC charting system and Apollo cardiac charting preferred.
  • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required at submittal for radius verification.
  • Ability to comply with facility infection control and fingernail policy. Artificial nails are prohibited in patient care areas.
  • Willingness to float daily and for on-call coverage to multiple hospital campuses as needed.
  • Ability to attend a one-week unit-specific orientation, including on-call buddy shifts; 12 orientation hours required.


Minimum Requirements / Client-Specific Requirements:

  • RCIS (CCI) certification required.
  • BLS and ACLS required.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Minimum 3 years of hospital-based Cath Lab/IR experience. Cardiac Cath/IR experience is essential.
  • Must be able to float to other hospital campuses and participate in call rotations; 30 minute response time expected to home campus, variable to others.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records and Apollo cardiac charting preferred.
  • Familiarity with Siemens imaging systems preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required at submission to confirm candidate is within a 50-mile radius of the facility network; candidates may not be employed part time, full time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity.
  • Compliance with fingernail/artificial nail policy for patient care areas.
  • Minimum availability for required call shifts: minimum 10 weeknight call shifts and minimum 2 weekend call shifts (one IR and one Cardiac) during assignment as required by unit scheduling.

  • Shift details: Days 0700-1700 (4x10 schedule noted; VMS notes 0700-1730 4 days/week).
  • Orientation: 12 hours; 1 week department-specific orientation including on-call buddy shifts.
  • Number of labs/suites: 3.
  • Typical case volume: 4–5 cases per day on average.
  • Charting system: EPIC with Apollo cardiac charting.
  • Equipment: Siemens imaging systems.
  • Floating: Candidates will need to float to multiple campuses for daily and on-call coverage.

Additional Job Information

  • Department scope: Cath Lab/IR performing primarily IR with cardiac inpatient add-ons; prepared for STEMI response and advanced hemodynamic stabilization up to IABP.
  • Common patient presentations: chest pain, shortness of breath, pulmonary embolism, DVT, venous access, and interventional oncology/vascular procedures.
  • Dress code: surgical greens for scrubs.
  • Supervisor/charge structure: supervisor present; charge nurse assigns shifts as needed.
  • Call expectations: team covers three campuses after hours and weekends; frequency of callbacks varies.
  • Cancellation policy: facility may cancel shifts per internal policy.
