Become a vital part of the team as an experienced CT Technologist. You will accurately follow physician scanning instructions, administer contrast materials when indicated, and operate CT scanners to produce diagnostic images for a hospital in Redwood City, CA.

Minimum Requirements:

• 2 years CT Technologist experience.
• Completion of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in Radiology.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT (ARRT(R) and ARRT(CT)).
• BLS certification.
• Fluoroscopy permit or ability to obtain fluoroscopy credential as required by the facility.
• State of California radiologic technologist certification or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Experience with Siemens 64-slice and 128-slice CT scanners preferred.
• Experience using Cerner charting system preferred.
• Prior hospital radiology experience treating ER, OR, inpatient, and outpatient populations preferred.

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital.
• Unit: Radiology / CT.
• Shift: Nights, 12-hour night shifts.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
• Orientation: 12 hours general orientation; additional unit-specific orientation varies by modality and experience.
• Charting system: Cerner.
• Equipment: Siemens CT (64- and 128-slice).
• Workload: Scheduled at approximately one patient per hour with additional inpatient and ER cases.
• Schedule expectations: Candidates proficient in CT may be scheduled across varied day shifts when needed; weekend and call coverage may be required depending on staffing and modality proficiency.

Scrubs are provided by the hospital. Radiology department staff typically include radiology techs with varying modality skills, ultrasound techs, and mammography techs. Preferred cross-training includes fluoroscopy, venipuncture, mammography, and ultrasound skills. Weekend and holiday coverage and on-call radiologist support are part of department operations. The hospital schedules multiple radiology techs across 24 hours to meet clinical needs.
