Description
We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Orlando, FL where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
- Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- BLS certification required.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Level 4 NICU setting.
- Demonstrated experience with high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) required.
- Experience with equipment commonly used in Level 4 NICU: HFOV, conventional ventilators, nitric oxide delivery systems, BCPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannula (HHFNC), LTV, and transport ventilators (T1, MR1) preferred.
- Experience using EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems preferred.
- Patient care experience with premature infants preferred.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: Hospital.
- Unit specialty: Level 4 NICU / PICU.
- Shift: Days.
- Shift hours: 06:45 - 19:15.
- Schedule: 3x12, 36 guaranteed hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
- Patient ratios: approximately 6–8:1.

As a Respiratory Therapist in this NICU/PICU role, you will manage respiratory care plans, perform ventilator management and transport support, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary neonatal teams. You will work with advanced neonatal respiratory modalities and participate in unit-based quality and safety initiatives.
