Become a vital part of a hospital radiology team in Portsmouth, VA as an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist. You will perform CT imaging examinations, administer intravenous contrast per hospital guidelines, operate GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 scanners, and assist with general radiographic exams as required. You will observe radiation safety guidelines, document patient care, perform quality control testing, and contribute to a team-based approach to patient care. The role requires strong patient care skills, critical thinking, and the ability to support departmental goals and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• ARRT (R) registration, current and active.
• ARRT (CT) registration preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Virginia state licensure as required for radiologic technologists.
• Minimum of 5 years of CT experience required.
• Experience operating GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 CT scanners required.
• Experience with CT head, neck, perfusion, pulmonary embolism studies, gastrointestinal bleeds, aneurysms, and routine chest/abdomen/pelvis exams.
• Outstanding patient care skills and demonstrated critical thinking.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Ability to perform IV contrast administration according to protocol.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS preferred.
• Previous travel assignment experience preferred.
• Two years of radiology experience preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift includes weekend coverage: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
• May be asked to float to other facilities within the market as needed.
• Unit uses GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 CT scanners.

Impacting Patients Nationwide

Under the direction of a radiologist, you will perform CT procedures that contribute to accurate diagnoses and patient care. You will maintain equipment, perform quality control testing, document patient care, adhere to radiation safety standards, participate in departmental meetings and in-services, and assist in training students or trainees. You will support emergency call rotation and may be asked to cover other units to ensure continuity of patient care.
