Become a vital part of a hospital radiology team in Portsmouth, VA as an experienced Computed Tomography Technologist. You will perform CT imaging examinations, administer intravenous contrast per hospital guidelines, operate and maintain GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 CT scanners, and provide patient education and compassionate care. You will work under the direction of a radiologist and assist with quality control, documentation, and departmental duties that support safe, effective imaging services.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current ARRT certification. ARRT (CT) preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Active VA licensure as required by state regulation.
• Minimum of 5 years of CT experience required.
• Experience performing CT head, neck, perfusion, pulmonary embolism studies, occasional runoffs, GI bleed protocols, aneurysm imaging, and routine chest/abdomen/pelvis exams.
• Demonstrated experience on GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 CT scanners.
• Strong patient care skills and critical thinking ability.
• Ability to perform contrast injections and follow radiation safety protocols.
• Ability to maintain documentation, perform quality control testing, and assist with departmental workflows.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Travel experience preferred.
• ARRT (CT) registration preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• Experience in hospital-based radiology or trauma settings preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern includes 9:30 AM – 10:00 PM on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
• Will be available for rotating emergency call.
• May be asked to float or cover at other facilities within the market.
• Orientation cadence available for VA hires; position may start any week.

Impacting Patients Nationwide

Under the supervision of a radiologist, you will perform procedures within the CT section and assist with general radiographic examinations as required. You will follow radiation safety guidelines and departmental policies, participate in quality assurance activities, and contribute to a team environment that supports excellent patient experience. Duties include equipment preparation and cleaning, patient transport, clerical documentation, and occasional training or mentoring of students or trainees. You will cooperate with staff to support departmental operations and may perform other job-related duties as assigned.
