Radiology Technologist - Multi-Modality (Travel Contract)Location: South Tulsa, OK
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Nights - Tuesday through Friday, 8:30 PM-6:30 AM (4x10s)
Position Requirements
Must Have:
1-2 years of CT and X-Ray experience
Active ARRT certification
Active Oklahoma Radiologic Technologist License
CT experience required
CT certification is not required
Preferred:
Experience with GE machines
Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist operates diagnostic radiologic equipment to produce high-quality radiographic images of the body for diagnostic purposes. This role involves operating specialized imaging equipment, including X-Ray, CT, and other radiologic technologies, while ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Job Responsibilities
Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal diagnostic views as requested by physicians.
Explain procedures to patients to promote understanding, cooperation, and reduce anxiety.
Administer appropriate pharmaceuticals, place IVs, and perform other required procedures as needed.
Apply radiation protection techniques using beam restriction devices, patient shielding, and proper exposure factors to minimize radiation exposure.
Operate and adjust radiographic equipment settings based on imaging protocols and patient requirements.
Obtain high-quality radiographic images using CR/DR and computerized radiology techniques.
Enter and maintain accurate patient information and exam data within the hospital EMR system.
Document required information in patient charts.
Perform quality control checks to ensure proper equipment operation.
Report equipment malfunctions according to established procedures.
Maintain examination rooms and ensure availability of medical and radiologic supplies.
Exercise independent judgment in planning imaging procedures and resolving technical issues.
Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and internal departments.
Required Skills & Experience
6 months to 1 year of related radiologic experience required.
Knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques, protocols, and imaging procedures.
Experience with CT, X-Ray, and other imaging modalities preferred.
Understanding of anatomy and physiology.
Ability to administer IV medications/pharmaceuticals for imaging procedures.
Knowledge of sharps safety practices and techniques.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze clinical data and apply appropriate decision-making.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
Detail-oriented approach to reviewing clinical and technical information.
Education Requirements
Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
Certification & Licensure Requirements
Active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Current CPR Certification.
Active Oklahoma Radiologic Technologist License.
