Opportunity:
Hospital
Job Details:
• Work in 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Standard ICU patient ratios of 1 nurse to 2 patients unless higher or lower acuity
• Participate in participative scheduling with manager's right to move staff to fill schedule gaps
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month required
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Must float to other units in facility as required including PCU/Medical surgical
• Provide care for post-operative open heart patients minimum 1-2 days post-op
• Work with standard critical care equipment plus Impella heart pump and Hemosphere advance monitoring platform
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Perform procedures including intubations, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Respond to rapids and code blue as part of critical care team
• Must have cardiac critical care experience
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (CCRN preferred)
• Navy scrubs required
• Maintain patient experience standards including explaining care and medications, treating with courtesy and respect, and timely call light response

The critical care team actively participates in emergency responses throughout the facility and provides specialized post-operative cardiac care.
