Opportunity:
NICU/ Special Care Nursery
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Days - Saturday & Sunday, Nights - Friday & Saturday)
• Holiday requirement: Rotate with permanent staff
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:1-3 depending on acuity
• May float to Mother Baby unit as needed
• Level II NICU experience required with 10-bed unit
• Must be competent in couplet care in postpartum and able to attend deliveries
• Must have experience with stabilization and attending high and low risk deliveries
• Must be experienced with postpartum couplet care including well newborns and maternal care
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (will consider 1 year with multiple travel experiences)
• Must have experience with ventilators, bubble CPAP, and high flow equipment
• Care for babies with low birth weight, prematurity, respiratory conditions, hemodynamic issues, tube feeds, feeders & growers, and substance abuse babies
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE
• No call or standby requirements
• Scrubs provided
• Orientation includes 8-hour compliance day with manager, 8-hour Epic class, and 2-3 twelve-hour shifts for unit-specific training
• Manager conducts phone interview with traveler
• Uses Epic charting system
• BSN not required
