Opportunity:

Acute Care PT

Job Details:

• Work 5x8 schedule, Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• 1 year of experience required - first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and California PT license
• Facility can call off once per two-week pay period
• Must be willing to float between all facilities within the state
• Required skills include acute care, home exercise programs, lifting and transfer, patient family education
• Work with various patient populations including ER, geriatrics, ICU, medical surgical, and orthopedics
• Perform AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive device training, body mechanics, pain assessment, and skin integrity assessments
• Conduct strength testing, vital signs, discharge planning, evaluations, and plan of care development
• Work with equipment including call lights, crutches, gait belts, hospital beds, standard walkers, and supplemental oxygen
• Treat conditions including COPD, CHF, CABG, MI, hip fractures, knee injuries, total joint replacements, and post-stroke rehabilitation
• Must commit to working 3 out of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete non-billable modules averaging 16 hours pre-start and annually
• LA fire card within last 30 days required
• Two references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Facility:

This 212-bed acute care hospital operates as a small, community-based facility providing comprehensive rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. The facility uses Epic charting system and provides free parking for staff. The hospital treats a variety of diagnoses including total hip and knee replacements, cardiac surgeries, general surgery patients, fractures, and general medical conditions in a supportive interdisciplinary environment.
