Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shift hours from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM and night shift hours from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within the contract time frame
• Self-scheduling available for core staff with travelers added in; block scheduling not guaranteed
• 33-bed ICU unit with an average daily census of 16 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adult patients
• Common patient diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• RNs required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• RNs required to read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips; monitoring system is GE with tele tech oversight
• Respiratory equipment ranges from nasal cannula to ventilator; RNs required to troubleshoot equipment
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally MedSurg with a typical ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Nurse aides available based on census; Healthcare Support Tech available 3 days per week Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system is EPIC
• Valid driver's license required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open book exam administered during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90% required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active RN license required for submission
