Job Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
Location
Omaha, NE
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally 1:3
- Manage a variety of high-acuity ICU patients including ventilated patients, BIS scoring, TTM, and IABP cases
- Titrate drips including vasopressors/inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, and insulin
- Collaborate with charge nurses, eICU support staff, and interdisciplinary team members each shift
- Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed based on unit demands
- Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every 3rd weekend; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule) and holiday rotation with permanent staff
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Ability to successfully pass a unit-specific open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
- Compliance with facility fingernail policy: artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience caring for ventilated patients and managing titratable drips in an ICU environment
- Familiarity with BIS monitoring, TTM protocols, and IABP management
- Strong teamwork orientation with a positive, collaborative approach to patient care challenges
