Opportunity:
RN - PCU and MedSurg
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with available shift times of 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM, 3:00 PM-7:00 PM, 7:00 PM-11:00 PM, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM, and 7:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available
• Unit is a mixed PCU, Oncology, and MedSurg floor with 27-28 beds
• Patient population consists of adults with common diagnoses including oncology and trauma
• Day shift ratios: 1:4 PCU, 1:5 Med/Surg; Night shift ratios: 1:5-6 patients
• May float to Med/Surg and PCU units of the same level of care
• Minimum 1 year of PCU and oncology experience required
• Minimum 1 year of charge nurse experience required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Common drips include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem, and protonix; RNs required to titrate insulin and occasionally cardizem
• Required competencies include ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000), and ICP monitoring with real-time training available
• EMR system: EPIC; IV Pumps: Alaris
• Scrubs: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ONS/ONCC
• 2 days of orientation provided including an open book pass/fail exam requiring a minimum score of 90%
• Up to 7 days of requested time off required upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved

This acute care facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering a wide range of specialized services across multiple units. The organization operates a mixed PCU and MedSurg unit dedicated to oncology and trauma patient populations, supported by a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, RN case managers, social workers, educators, and dieticians. The facility emphasizes patient-centered care, cultural diversity, and teamwork, with a strong focus on hourly rounding and patient experience.
