Opportunity:
ICU RN
Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM or 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
• Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within contract time frame
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3 for adult patients
• 33-bed ICU unit with an average daily census of 16 patients
• Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Required to read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips using GE monitoring system with tele tech oversight
• Manage patients on respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Nurse aides available based on census for 1:1 sits or floor assistance; Healthcare Support tech available 3 days per week Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med/Surg with a ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• If placed on call and called back in, must arrive within 30 minutes
• Self-scheduling for travelers added into core staff schedule; block scheduling not guaranteed
• 1 shift of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90% to pass
• RTO of 7 or fewer days per 13-week contract must be requested upfront; additional RTO will not be approved
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Charting system: EPIC
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Radius rule: Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering comprehensive critical care services within a well-equipped ICU environment. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic charting system and maintains a strong focus on patient safety and clinical excellence. The unit supports a collaborative team environment with tele tech oversight, nurse aide assistance, and respiratory therapy support to ensure high-quality care for critically ill patients.
