Opportunity:
RN - SICU
Job Details:
• Work in a 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Patient ratio follows standard ICU guidelines: 1 RN to 2 patients, adjusted based on acuity
• Participative scheduling with a minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month required
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed and manager reserves the right to adjust staff schedules to fill gaps
• Must float to other units within the facility as required, including PCU and medical surgical units
• Must have cardiac critical care experience
• Advanced skills required: ability to care for post open heart surgery patients a minimum of 1 to 2 days postoperatively
• Experience with Impella heart pump and CRRT is a plus
• Perform procedures including intubations, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Respond to rapids and code blue as part of the critical care team
• Utilize standard critical care equipment including Impella and Hemosphere advanced monitoring platform
• Document using Meditech system
• Provide excellent patient experience including explaining care and medications, treating patients with courtesy and respect, and answering call lights in a timely manner
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS; CCRN is a plus
• Required dress code: Navy scrubs
