Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Varied start times available including 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM - 11:00 AM
• No self-scheduling for travelers; block scheduling may be permitted if it meets unit needs
• One weeknight on-call rotation from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• One weekend 24-hour on-call shift per month from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Holiday call rotation as needed
• Call response time is 30 minutes; if more than 30 minutes away and on-call, provider may be required to stay
• Float to outpatient surgery as needed
• 2-3 years of experience in OR specialty required along with 2-3 previous travel assignments
• Ortho experience required
• Must have experience passing arms in and out for Robotics (Da Vinci and Rosa)
• Must have experience with all specialties for evening and night shifts
• Overnight RN will be the only RN on shift with 2 techs and must be comfortable working in that capacity
• Scrubbing is a plus but not required for RNs
• Responsible for turning over rooms as no aides or housekeeping are available
• Common cases include general surgery, ENT, eyes, ortho, robotics, neuro spine, vascular, trauma, and pediatric dental and ENT
• All surgical cases covered except CVOR and L&D C-sections
• Unit orientation consists of 3 shifts over 1 week
• Scrubs are provided
• Charting system: Epic; must have Epic experience
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA); PALS preferred
• BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive surgical services department featuring 9 operating rooms, 1 procedure room, and 1 hybrid room, handling an average of 35-45 cases per day. The unit is open 24/7 and supports a wide range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, robotics, vascular, trauma, and pediatric procedures. The OR staff consists predominantly of travel professionals, fostering a collaborative and experienced surgical team environment.
