Opportunity:

RN - Oncology/Infusion

Job Details:

• Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections including chemo, hormonal, and non-chemo/hormonal treatments per provider orders
• Access and manage port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters
• Perform venipuncture, PICC and Hickman dressings, and labs via ports, PICCs, and Hickman catheters
• Provide appropriate clinical care for all assigned patients
• Maintain accurate, concise, and complete records of patient conditions, treatments, medications, and responses to treatment
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of all intravenous therapies and patient responses
• Notify Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner of unusual occurrences and initiate appropriate emergency action when necessary
• Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding medications, treatments, expected responses, side effects, disease process, nutrition, activity, and physical adjustments
• Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy
• Demonstrate knowledge of proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs
• Utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with all policies and procedures
• Must be proficient in Epic EMR
• Perform other related duties as assigned

This facility features an 18-bay semi-private infusion center dedicated to providing comprehensive oncology care. The team focuses on delivering high-quality chemotherapy and infusion services in a patient-centered environment. The facility supports a collaborative approach to cancer care, with Medical Oncologists and Nurse Practitioners working alongside nursing staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients undergoing complex treatment regimens.
