Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

• Every 3rd weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 24 months of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Nursery/Mother-Baby experience highly preferred
• Post-partum experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcomed
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Care for patients in labor, delivery, post-partum, antepartum, and newborn nursery
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio for active labor patients
• 1:3-4 nurse-to-patient ratio for couplets
• Perform titration of pitocin
• Unit includes 3 LDRP beds and 4 post-partum beds
• May float to Med Surg or ICU infrequently to assist with med pass or tech cares
• Required certifications: BLS, AWHONN, NRP, ACLS (AHA)
• NRP certificate required with documentation
• Intermediate EFM/Electronic Fetal Monitoring certificate required with documentation
• Iowa nursing license required - must reflect Active Iowa/IA license or compact/Multistate status at time of submission
• Skills checklist specific to the discipline required
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required with documentation

Facility:

This facility features a dedicated Labor & Delivery unit with LDRP and post-partum beds, supporting an average of 300 deliveries annually. The facility also operates a Med Surg unit with 23 beds serving bariatric surgery, orthopedic, and general medical-surgical patients. The organization utilizes EPIC as its electronic medical records system and maintains comprehensive support services across multiple units to ensure high-quality patient care.
