Opportunity:
Med/Tele RN
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts available: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating shift schedule will not occur more than weekly
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• First to float designation
• 32-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5, occasional 1:5-6 on nights; PCU level care overflow ratio of 1:3
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, Covid BiPap, general surgical with cardiac history, pneumonia, acute on chronic conditions, influenza, and sepsis
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
• Required to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with RT equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo
• Floating requirements include all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, MS for full patient assignment, and some ER holds/boarding
• Charge nurse available on both shifts and may occasionally take a light patient load of 2-3 patients
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available with a goal ratio of 1:10
• Telemetry portable monitors, in-room monitors, and a tech at the nurses station available
• 2 orientation shifts of 12 hours each (Friday and Saturday of first week)
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Charting system: Epic (preferred experience)
• PCU experience required; comfortable with first-time travelers
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
