Job Summary
Step Down Unit Nurse specializing in Telemetry, located in Bismarck, North Dakota. The position involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients with varying diagnoses, including cardiac conditions, post-procedural care, and medical-surgical needs. The role requires a focus on patient safety and clinical excellence in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); two years of clinical experience; North Dakota licensure; ability to read and interpret cardiac strips; experience with adult and geriatric patient populations; proficiency with Epic electronic health record system; tele/heart unit experience; able to perform titration of drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience; comfortable with first-time travel assignments; familiarity with the facilitys charting and workflows.
- Care Setting: Acute care in a step down unit with approximately 32 beds, staffed with nurses, nurse aides, and monitor technicians.
- Responsibilities: Monitoring and interpreting telemetry, troubleshooting Bipap, trachs, and airvo devices, managing patient care and titratable drips, and collaborating with charge nurses and support staff.
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with rotation scheduled weekly; staff scheduled by management with possible blocked schedules.
- Additional Information: Orientation consists of two 12-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday; full on-unit orientation followed by independent work. Floating to other hospital areas as needed; all duties performed in accordance with facility policies.
