Opportunity:

Registered Nurse / Emergency Department

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling including potential weekend and holiday coverage based on department needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 or higher, up to 1:8 depending on staffing, acuity, and triage level
• 45-bed unit with approximately 160 patient visits per day
• Work with pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Patient mix includes IV, Emergency Department, Peds/Adult, and Psych cases
• ER Techs and transport sitters available on the unit
• Required skills include blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, triage, and pediatric emergency care
• Charting system is EPIC; experience is required
• Scrub color is black
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• No travel pairs accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, Stroke and Trauma CEUs
• De-escalation training must be completed within 14 days of start date
• Active NJ or Compact nursing license required
• Candidates are required to float within their skillset
• Any requested time off must be submitted and approved prior to offer; schedule changes cannot be accommodated after the start date
• Block scheduling is not available

This facility is a large health system operating a high-volume emergency department that serves a diverse patient population across all age groups. The unit is well-supported with ER Techs and transport sitters on site, and is equipped as both a STEMI-certified and stroke-certified facility. The emergency department sees approximately 160 visits per day across 45 beds, reflecting the facility's commitment to comprehensive, around-the-clock emergency care.
