Opportunity:
RN - Telemetry
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts required: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Days: Saturday/Sunday, Nights: Friday/Saturday)
• May be asked to work holidays but not expected to work every holiday
• Schedule is typically made 6 weeks at a time with scheduler working with travelers to create schedule
• Block scheduling not guaranteed (maximum of 5 shifts in a row)
• Travelers are first to float and may be floated to any MS, MS-Tele, or Tele unit within the hospital or sister facilities in Meridian and Nampa
• Expected to float between 3rd and 7th floor Telemetry units as needed
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• 3rd Floor focus: Cardiac; post-op procedural, post-op day 1 open heart, TAVRs, ablations, post caths, pacemakers, and med tele
• 7th Floor focus: General Tele; post procedural overflow, CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, post strokes, and more
• Must have post procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart)
• PCU and stepdown experience preferred
• Must be able to read, interpret, and document telemetry appropriately; nurses expected to read and interpret tele 2x per shift
• Required to titrate Heparin and Insulin drips (rare); facility willing to train on insulin if needed
• Common drips include set rate cardiac GTT, amiodarone, Cardizem, dopamine, and dobutamine
• Respiratory therapy available on each floor for high respiratory needs including intermittent high flow, BiPAP, and CPAP; RNs may be asked to assist as needed
• Charge nurse on each unit who does not take a patient assignment unless necessary; crisis and resource nurse available in-house
• CNA support available: 3 CNAs on 3rd floor, 5 CNAs on 7th floor
• Charting system: EPIC
• Any color scrubs permitted
• 2 shifts of orientation provided (1 on 3rd floor, 1 on 7th floor)
• 2 years of experience required; prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
